Rome University of Fine Art
February 2017-July 2017
For the last term of my second year, I studied in Rome at RUFA as an Erasmus exchange student. The opportunity was incredible, offering me access to a dynamic art scene as well as a set of new skills (ceramics and 3ds Max) and the development of my existing ones (painting, printing, sculpture, installation, drawing). The whole course was run in Italian and at the end of the exchange, I managed to sit my exams in Italian, which was a great accomplishment for me.

Work Experience/ Employment History

October 2017 Catalogue Committee Birmingham City University
As part of the team that is organising and designing the catalogue for the final show of the Birmingham School of Art, I have the opportunity to get valuable insight into the process of creating an art catalogue that represents the work of more than 80 people.

October 2017 AimHigher Mentor
Working as an AimHigher mentor I have the wonderful opportunity to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds reach their full potential using their creativity.

October 2017 Ikon Artimbarc Research
I worked in a gallery setting researching the impact of an audio guide to the overall experience. In this position, I had the opportunity to experience art through unique perspective, understand the public opinion as well as help the visitors reach a deeper level of understanding of the artwork. The app was also raising the issue of funding and supporting art. People’s reaction to this problem gave me important insight into the financial structure of the art world.

September 2016-January 2017 The Arches Project- Digbeth- Still Life Drawing Teacher
I am a strong believer that traditional art skills are essential in the development of a fine art student. The course at BCU does not provide still-life drawing classes so I decided to organize a class for amateurs and professional art enthusiasts who love drawing. I volunteered to create a class once a week and The Arches Project supported my initiative, offering me a space to materialize my ideas in their gallery. The experience was very valuable and as a teacher, I learned a lot from my students, about art, about relationships, about active listening, about communication and about myself. There were moments when the role was challenging as I had to prepare myself, reinvent myself every time and deliver information and practical skill sessions as concisely and as clearly as possible to an audience that was extremely eclectic.

May 2016 - GECCO Romania
Illustrator Advertisement Poster
Gecco is a company creating 3D puzzles whose main audience are children, and the extended one is the family. They offer different lifelike castles, inspired my Medieval architecture, each coming with its own story. I photographed the puzzle castle from different angles and in different moments of its construction. In Photoshop I created an imaginary fairytale like scenarios. I intertwined the realistic style of the puzzle with a creative, loose way of drawing. I tried to offer an exciting, magic universe that is enjoyable for both boys and girls. I also wanted to show that each castle has endless stores hidden, waiting to be imagined.
